Names that used to be only BOY names - you're gonna be shocked |
|
So I was looking to the most popular BOY names in the late 1800s and early 1900s and I was shocked to find these:
Charley Ray Jessie Marion Sidney Leslie Jess Percy Alva Shelly Payton Sharon Ora Monroe Pearl Sally Bailey Asa Riley Mary Meredith Ambrose Elisha Lauren Robyn Taylor Dee Lynn Jamie Logan Morgan Avery Emile Loren Pink Pat Madison Lafayette Kim Sandy Elza Audrey Fay Addison Anna Jordan Clair Valentine Carey Dorsey Frances Sydney Cary Lyle Shirley Jade Kelly Wylie Shelby Kerry Parker Elizabeth Lindsey Shannon Emma Beverly Bertie Finn Terry Tracy Alma Lacy June Margaret Hollis Minnie Clare Dana Bertha Ivy Augustine Finley Clara Casey Cassidy Burley Vivian Reese Ashley Annie Baily Summer Kelly Connie Ida Bernie Evelyn Andrea Drew Pinkney Hallie Everette Allison Lindsay Reece Aubrey Paris Fayette Rose Brooks May Hollie Sasha Ariel Dora Louise Martha Joyce Alice Rene Edith Hilary Grace Cora Carrie Harper Jodie Ruby Bonnie Myrtle Dayton Vivian Alexis Lillian Chesley Lillie Whitney Callie Julia Emerson Nora Ella Sarah Courtney Sam Cameron Kelley Connor Flynn Azure Stacy Kiley Mackenzie Iris
it's incredibly how 95% of these names have all gone exclusively to females!! Which boy names do you think will eventually crossover to the female side and be lost forever for males? I think the Ayden names and its friends (like Hayden, Jayden and Zaidyn) will eventually become too common for girls, like Charlie, Shane, Skylar, Lee, Dylan, Elliott, James, Blake, Ryan, Mason, Spencer, Evan, Tristan, Angel, Hunter, Emmerson, Tyler, Blayde, Jake, Wesley, Lucas, Caleb, Kyle, Cody, Danny, Austin, etc...
What do you think? |

that's interesting! but i think, if you have a girl, you call it a girls name, you have a boy you giv it a bos name. you wrote on your lit wesley and kyle to be converted, i would probably laugh if i heard a girl called wesley, and other names like kyle, have a girl equivelent (kylie). and avery i stilll can't get over people calling their kids that. but i may be slightly weird in my thinkings. |

This is interesting! We were thinking of naming our little boy hayden...he is due in march 2110 but i have friends with jayden & aiden that are boys and another with a little girl ayden. I'm a female with a unisex name (Toni) and I love it! |
