  Unless that is the route you are planning to take, David Elijah is far too biblical for me.
i think that if you take either name and put a modern name either in front or behind it it will sound nice.

e.g.       Jackson Elijah 
             David Elliot
             Elijah Ellis 
             Roman Elijah 
             Jayden David
             Brodie Elijah 
             Harrison David
